Father George Kanshamba was born on November 30, 1968, in Luanshya, Zambia. His father was a principal at an elementary school and his mother was a teacher at a Catholic school called Dagama run by the Franciscan Sisters. Father George was ordained a priest in the Catholic diocese of Ndola in Zambia on August 8, 1998. In his pastoral ministry, Father George served in the following capacities:

• Pastor of Church of Sts. Peter & Paul Chingola, Zambia

• Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish in Ndola-Zambia
• Pastor of All Saints Parish in Chililabombwe-Zambia
• Pastor of St.  Theresa’s Parish in Mufulira, Zambia

Chancery’s Assignments

• Appointed administrator of BFMYPS (Bishop Francis Mazzieri Young Priests’ Society) an organization in the Catholic Diocese of Ndola responsible for fundraising money for the seminary and post-seminary education for the diocesan seminarians
• Member of Body of Consultors in Ndola Diocese
• Appointed as Bishop’s Personal and Confidential Secretary of the late Bishop Dennis de Jong, the third bishop of Ndola diocese

Seminary Duties
Briefly assigned to teach Liturgy and Patristic theology at the St. Dominic’s Major Seminary in Lusaka, a Zambian National Seminary

Communication: Electonic Media
Father George is specialized in video shooting, graphics and editing. He was an executive director of Isaiah II Studio, a Catholic Studio which he founded to promote evangelization of the Word of God through electronic media: audio and video. Father George was greatly involved in the Catholic Renewal Movement as one of the formidable preachers and had produced a series of evangelization videos that were recorded on DVDs.

Pastoral Duties in New York Archdiocese: Father George has been Parochial Vicar at the Church of St. Anthony of Padua since September of 2014.
